Bentley Gives New Meaning To The Term, Rock and Roll
For generations, luxury car manufacturers have used natural materials like wood and leather to adorn their interiors. But now Bentley is making a new option available to ensure their interiors stand out from the crowd; real stone.
These slate and quartzite stone veneers are sustainably mined from hand-selected quarries in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, India. They are split and cured then shaped by Bentley’s Mulliner craftsmen alongside their leather and wood experts at the factory in Crewe, England.
Just 0.1 mm thick, the veneers are light and slightly translucent which highlights the stone’s grain and detail.
According to Geoff Dowding, Director of Mulliner Operations, “We are exploring new, fine and rare materials to offer even more bespoke tailoring and choice to our customers. Stone veneers are another first for Bentley – but only the beginning of what we plan to do with this luxurious and unique material.”
Currently available in both the Flying Spur and Continental models, the stone veneers have a natural finish and can be had in four colors: galaxy blue, autumn white, terra red, and copper.
Mulliner is Bentley’s bespoke division and is capable of customizing any of their vehicles in many ways, including monogrammed upholstery, custom body work, and individualized paint and trim. With these new veneers, Bentley have demonstrated once again their commitment to innovation in luxury car interiors.
