Balmain Debuts Kids Collection Inspired By North West
North West, Kim and Kanye’s daughter, has inspired Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing to debut the brand’s children collection. Geared up to dress up boys and girls, aged 6 to 14, in their iconic stylish designs, the French fashion house guarantees that their mini-size collection will keep up with the same exacting standards and style of their adult collections.
The new collection’s first fifty-five designs riff on house classics that Rousteing has shown on the men’s and women’s runways over the past five years. The house’s signature offerings, including Japanese-denim jeans, quilted perfectos, thick cabans, double-breasted coats and white tux jackets are given new lives in smaller sizes. There’s also a chic fur coat, embroidered cavalry jacket, zebra-patterned top and a selection of sleek shoe designs which are mini versions of the ones that rule the runway.
The collection ranges from $200 for a sleeveless patterned tee to $6,000 for an embroidered black dress and will be available in stores next June, exclusively at Balmain boutiques and online at Balmain.com.
Balmain CEO, Emmanuel Diemoz states, “I couldn’t be happier with what Olivier and his team created. We’re excited to bring Balmain’s unique style to a new, younger customer, while guaranteeing to their parents the type of quality and craftsmanship that can only come from an historic Paris house. I know for certain that I am going to be hearing from quite a few pleased parents once this news is made public!”
Balmain is all set to become a one-stop family shopping destination with the debuting collection as stylish mamas can dress to match their daughters and dapper daddys sport the same outfits as their sons.
