Usain Bolt To Retire After 2016 Olympics


After earning one of the most impressive records in all of sports, the world's fastest man is officially ready to run his last Olympic race.

In a sit down with Agence France-Presse, Olympic Gold Medalist Usain Bolt announced that the 2016 Rio Olympics will be his last Olympic race.

Bolt is a 6-time Olympic gold medalist. The Jamaican sprinter earned extreme accolades during the 2008 Beijing Olympics when he became the first man to ever win both the 100m and 200m races in record time. That same year Bolt was apart of the 4x100m team that broke the world record for the category. Bolt again shocked the world in 2012 when he defended he defended all three of his titles, again setting the world record for the 4x100m race.

At 29- years old, Bolt has accumulated a legendary height of success during his career and acknowledges that it is his time to step away from the sport. top. "Why should I continue?," he asked. "So you accomplish everything you want to accomplish. At some point, you just say, listen, let me leave the sport."

Bolt would need just 2 more gold medals to for the 2nd most of all time, and 3 more to tie for first.
