Chloé Autumn/Winter ’16 Collection

It was a tale of two worlds colliding at Chloé’s Autumn/Winter 2016 Collection. Inspired by escapism, femininity and a modern motocross attitude, the collection was a mix of ruffles, chiffon and leather.

Sticking to a colour palette that was relatively neutral, the models walked the runway in shades of blush, caramel, cocoa, forest green, carmine, icy purple and dusty blue. The authentically Chloé hues were seen on chiffon embroideries and textured eveningwear. Balancing the romantic designs were rugged pieces made of leather and shearling.

Some of the noteworthy designs included capes, which took on a parachute silhouette. Following closely behind, were tiered-taffeta dresses as well as sheer pastel blouses in shirred georgette that featured a flounced yoke and cascading sleeves. With rippling hems that were hitched up, the long-sleeved dresses showcased the use of encrusted lace, floral jacquards and printed appliques in inkblot chiffon.

Rich knitwear also made an appearance in multicolour hand-knotted wool and geometric jacquards. The rugged display was seen with leather trousers and trim jackets contoured with racing stripes and lace-up details, and paired with biker boots zipped to the ankle. Fine silk scarves, stacked antique rings, charm earrings and the brand new ‘Lexa’ double-strap satchel rounded up the collection.
