Kanye West, Kim Kardashian Among Time's Most Influential People on the Internet
No surprise here. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were named among Time magazine's 30 most influential people on the Internet.
Kardashian, 35, and the rapper, 38, have been making headlines left and right over the past several months, with highlights including both personal milestones and epic feuds.
Kardashian, for her part, has been adjusting to becoming a mom of two since late last year. She's garnered attention for posting photos of the couple's daughter North, 2, and son Saint, 3 months. She also often shares stories on her personal website and joined Snapchat earlier this month.
More recently, Kardashian fought against Bette Midler and Chloe Grace Moretz over a nude selfie posted earlier this month. The Selfish author slammed the stars via Twitter and penned an open letter after she was body-shamed for the photo. In the new issue of Us Weekly, a source exclusively reveals that West helped Kardashian slam the actresses via Twitter.
Fans have been paying attention to West's antics, too. The Yeezy Season 3 designer clashed with Taylor Swift, Wiz Khalifa and his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, among others. (West and Khalifa and Kardashian and Rose have since made peace.) West also previously claimed that he's $53 million in personal debt, begged Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to help him with his money problems and had a meltdown backstage at Saturday Night Live.
The "Famous" singer — who announced (jokingly?) that he's running for president in 2020 — isn't the only outspoken person that Time picked. GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump also made the list. He has raised eyebrows with controversial remarks toward Fox host Megyn Kelly and Mexican immigrants, and more recently was accused of being a racist by singer John Legend.
Others who made the cut on Time's list are Late Late Show host James Corden (those carpool karaokes!), DJ Khaled, bestselling author J.K Rowling, soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Caitlyn Jenner, Vine sensation Andrew Bachelor, Drake and plus-size model Tess Holliday.
