Kanye West Claims He Sold $1 Million Worth of Clothing in Two Days

Praise Yeezus! Though he’s met with harsh criticism from the fashion industry, Kanye West’s clothing lines continue to be a massive success — at least according to the “Famous” rapper himself.

On Tuesday, March 22, West, 38, tweeted that he sold $1 million worth of apparel in just two days after opening a New York City pop-up shop that carried merchandise inspired by his latest album, The Life of Pablo.

“but there is no other brand that could sell 1 million dollars of clothing in 2 days from 1 location!!!” Kim Kardashian’s husband bragged on Twitter.

This isn’t the first time the father of two has triumphed in previously uncharted territory. Back in October 2015, the hip-hop star-turned-designer sold out his entire Yeezy Season 1 collection to retailers.

Tom Kalenderian, executive vice president and general merchandise manager of men's and Chelsea Passage at Barneys New York, knew from the get-go that Ye’s designs would be a big hit.

“The buzz surrounding the launch of the Kanye West x adidas Originals Yeezy Season 1 was amazing, yet anticipated,” Kalenderian told The Daily Beast at the time. “This designer has had a profound influence on music, popular culture and fashion; with his finger on the pulse of his followers. The excitement extended well beyond his fan base; reaching fashion customers all wanting to experience his vision with this collection."

In a 2013 interview with Jimmy Kimmel, West revealed that he prepared for a career in fashion by moving to Rome to intern at Fendi for four months, and said that Giuseppe Zanotti personally taught him how to design shoes for several years.

"I understand about quality, fabrics, I spent 10,000 hours out there,” he told the late-night talk show host. “I dedicated my life to this.”

"Invest in the brand!"
