John Legend's Refreshing Approach to Preparing for Fatherhood
Most first-time parents get a little anxious while discussing what to expect when welcoming a baby into the world, but not John Legend!
The singer, who is expecting a baby girl with Chrissy Teigen sometime soon, sat down with E! News to discuss the Axe Collective during SXSW and revealed his refreshing approach to parenthood with a total laid back demeanor.
"I feel like, my mentality is just to be open and ready to help with whatever I can," he said. "And to be as loving to my wife and to our daughter as much as possible."

He added, "I don't know how you can be ready. We're focused on getting the house ready because we just moved into a new place. But you know, you don't really know how it's going to go until it happens."
And that's exactly how he feels about baby names, too. The couple hasn't decided on a name for their little princess just yet, but he thinks that will come once they meet her.
"We're thinking about it all the time, the baby names," he laughed. "We both have opinions, and we agree on a lot of things so it's just a matter of when we see her."
He's also not worried about them coming up with one they can both agree on. "Our taste is very similar about a lot of things, though, like when we're decorating the house, it's similar; when we decide what we're going to eat, it's similar. So I think baby names, it isn't that different."
You know, because picking between pizza or chicken nuggets is pretty similar to deciding between Mary or Beth! Same, same. (LOL).
As for his role as a parent after the baby is born? Legend revealed he's taking a "paternity leave."
"I think paternity leave is good. I think it's good for me to be home with Chrissy and helping her with whatever she needs," he explained. "And I want to get to know our little baby!"
He knows work is going to have to "slow down" a bit once the little one arrives, and he's excited to see where this next chapter as a family goes.
"It'll be interesting to see how we discover the work-life balance now that we've had a baby."
"Invest in the brand!"
