Mo'Nique & Husband To Hold Podcast About Their Open Marriage And More

Comedienne and actress, Mo'Nique announced earlier this week that she and her husband, Sidney Hicks, will be holding a podcast to discuss their philosophy on open marriage. The podcast will take place on January 11th, 2016, and the couple will not only be opening up about their own open relationship, but also offering advice to others in similar situations.

After hearing Toya Wright's comments on the '8 hall passes to cheat', apparently the 47-year-old had some thoughts of her own to share--which in result started an internet uproar. “Open means we’re open-minded to the world,” she explained. “That’s what we’re open to. We are open to being honest to each other all the way through.”

"Often times people cheat because of something they’re not getting. But when you have open and honest dialogue and you say we’re just human beings, and all these people on the face of the earth...do you think my eyes won’t ever say ‘he’s fine’, or ‘she’s attractive’. Now if you wanna go further with it, let’s be honest enough to have those conversations. What is it about that person that you find that you wanna sleep with? Because they may give you something that I’m simply not willing to do. And if that’s the case, how can I be mad? Because I’m not gon’ do it. Should I deprive you of not having it? That’s when the relationship is real real." she says.

Since Mo'Nique's comments, there has been lots of controversy surrounding the issue. Although some may be quite disturbed by the actress's comments, this is actually not her first time admitting to her open marriage. Throughout previous years, Mo'Nique has made it very clear about her views on being "open" with her husband. However, she indicates that her idea of an open relationship is not going out and having sex freely; it's about having an honest and open platform with your partner so you both could come to a mutual understanding.
