Samsung, Google, Spotify Reportedly Seeking To Buy Tidal

According to reports,  Jay Z's mega streaming service, Tidal, is the new target of potential buyouts by Samsung, Google, and Spotify.

According to the NY Post, Samsung has long been in talks to acquire the streaming service. It is also noted that the phone giant has a long standing business relationship with Jay Z and was heavily involved in the release of his last album, as well as with other Tidal owners, including Rihanna. In a statement released by Samsung, the company says,"it's our policy not to comment on rumors or speculation."

As for #Google and fellow streaming service #Spotify, sources say they are interested in minority ownership opportunities.

The reports come just weeks after Tidal garnered one of the biggest exclusive music releases of the year with Kanye West's latest album 'The Life of Pablo'.  Prior to #TLOP, Tidal also exclusively released #Rihanna's long awaited album #Anti.

#Tidal is said to currently be worth around $100M, and has reportedly succeeded at gaining millions of subscribers. Still, many companies are doubting its ability to withstand certain battles.

No reports have been confirmed thus far.
