Netflix Secures Three New Seasons Of "Orange Is The New Black"
While the ladies of Lynchfield Prison are gearing up for the premiere of the fourth season of the popular Netflix series, additional time has been added to their sentence. Netflix recently announced that the prison comedy will be renewed for three more seasons.
The series renewal guarantees a fifth, sixth, and seventh season, as well as keeping the show’s creator, Jenji Kohan, as the Netflix original’s show runner.
"Three more years! Not quite a political term, but still plenty of time to do some interesting things," Kohan said in a statement. "In some cultures, 'May you lead an interesting life,' is a curse, but I don't live in those cultures. Here's to keeping it interesting. Thanks Netflix! Both thanks and you're welcome, Lionsgate! And kudos and gratitude to the stellar cast and crew and writers and producers and editors and musicians and mixers and shleppers ... with whom I have the pride and honor of crafting this show. Three more years! Three more years!"
This news adds to the list of cast accomplishments. Recently, the cast took home the prize at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Comedy Ensemble, and star Uzo Aduba won the award for Outstanding Comedy Actress.
Season four of "Orange Is The Black" will premiere June 17.
"Invest in the brand!"
