Katy Perry Is 2015’s Highest Paid Woman In Music

Although Taylor Swift has been hitting the headlines for being the world’s highest-earning celebrity couple along with Calvin Harris and topping Maxim’s Hot 100 list of 2015, it is Katy Perry who is playing music at the top slot of Forbes’s 2015 list of the highest earning women in music industry.

The Celebrity 100 cover star is 2015’s highest-paid woman in music, thanks to her Prismatic World Tour as well as deals with Coty, Claire’s and CoverGirl. Perry has garnered $135 million this year and grossed more than $2 million per city over the course of 126 shows.

Singing her way to the second position is 25 year old Taylor Swift with an estimated earnings of $80 million. The “Shake It Off” singer’s launch of her widely successful pop album “1989” in October 2014 helped to propel her to this slot. The album has sold more than 3.6 million copies and with her 1989 Tour grossing some $4 million per city, she is sure to capture the top position in the coming year.

The third highest earning position in music industry is held by Fleetwood Mac with an annual earning of $59.5 million. Though the band contains three men, Fleetwood Mac is eligible for this list as it boasts two high-profile ladies Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie. The group’s On With The Show tour included 86 concerts during the scoring period, grossing well over $1 million per city and it also boasted a staggering secondary ticket price of over $300.

While Lady Gaga ranks fourth with $59 million, Beyoncé rounded out the top five with $54.5 million under her belt.
