A Legendary Hotel in St. Barts Receives a Contemporary Makeover
A St. Barts icon has been reborn. The legendary hillside hideaway Hôtel Le Toiny emerged in November from a three-month makeover. Located on the southern coast of the French West Indies island, the Relais & Châteaux resort unveiled its new look with the debut of the Toiny Beach Club, a waterfront restaurant set within two 18th-century cottages. The property’s 15 villas—famous for the red flags guests raise to request in-room service—have been redesigned as well, eschewing their former French-colonial style for a contemporary coastal look that includes a blue-and-white color palette, Belgian linens, and handmade furnishings. Renovations also extended to Le Toiny’s lobby, library, open-air bar, and the award-winning French restaurant Le Gaiac.
