Janeal woke up every morning believing she had the perfect life. That is until her mother died. Like most, she battled demons from her past, and prided herself on being able to pull through. However, nothing could have prepared her for the day her lifetime would slip right through fingers.

Rather than be confronted for answers, her mother left a series of letters for Janeal to read and uncover her own hidden truths. There were secrets that her mother, Shona, would take to her grave. But the ones she left to be discovered had Janeal questioning whether she was the dreamer, or the dream. How could she continue to love the woman who gave her life, yet had knowingly lied to her?

Soon secrets begin to unfold, mysteries start to unravel and the lives of the people she loves seem to be headed for a collision course. With her mother gone, Janeal has to make hard-and-fast choices on how to move forward after all the hurt. It’s up to her to rebuild broken family ties while still creating a new life for her, and her husband. How long would she be able to hide her crooked smile?
