As always, watch houses brought their newest and best designs to Baselworld – and this was particularly a good year for women’s watches. Beautiful colors and designs were everywhere, but brands are also responding to a demand for more technical innovation and complications in women’s watches. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite watches for women below and no matter what kind of watch lover you are, there’s something here for you!
Hublot Big Bang One Click Sapphire 39 mm
This perfectly clear watch has nothing to hide! Hublot uses a “painstaking and costly” technique that enables them to create large and uniform sapphires that can be used to create delightful watches like these beauties. The choice of overly girly colors may be off putting to some, but there’s something so interesting about the cool brilliance of diamonds against those pastel pretty sapphire cases. The Manufacture HUB1710 automatic movement is on full display here, and we love it.
Omega De Ville Trésor Collection
We admit we’re cheating by including an entire collection in this round-up, but anyone in our place would do the same! Omega’s new De Ville TrĂ©sor watches are quietly elegant with their smooth curves, highlighted by an unconventional placement of diamonds. Powered by the Omega calibre 4061, these graceful watches are complemented by fine leather straps and come in 39mm or 36mm case sizes. Whether you choose stylish red gold or timeless steel, you have a classic on your hands.
Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas 3 ors watch
We couldn’t stop raving about this new Serpenti Tubogas creation, so it can’t be a surprise that it made it to our round-up. This watch will appeal to many with its vintage-meets-modern style that weaves yellow, white and rose gold into the coils of a snake. A black guilloche dial keeps the watch feeling current while subtle diamonds on the bezel add a touch of sparkle. There’s nothing to dislike here!
Chopard Happy Palm watch
This watch was inspired by the Palme d’Or, the highest prize awarded at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. But you don’t have to love movies to appreciate this beautiful palm frond watch. It’s spectacularly detailed dial is crafted from mother of pearl and decorated with Urushi lacquer and gold dust in a process that took 170 hours. Five loose diamonds and a miniature palm frond dance across the dial every time you check the time. This watch will remind you instantly of a rather luxurious tropical vacation.
Patek Philippe Ladies Chronograph watch
This manually wound watch is one of the rare chronographs that’s modern but not too sporty. Powered by the CH 29-535 PS movement, this watch will be popular with collectors, especially those who love the feel of wearing a manually wound watch. The Breguet numerals get a special mention since they add so much elegance to the otherwise busy-looking dial of this beautiful timepiece.
Harry Winston Premier Winston Candy Automatic watch
You’ll be forgiven for being dazed by the scintillating beauty of this Harry Winston watch. True to its name, it brings to mind the sweetness of candy with its dial set with vividly colored gems. 322 gemstones and diamonds give it that dazzling shine, but it also has an historical significance for the brand: it is the first time Harry Winston has fitted an automatic movement in a 31mm watch.
Rolex Datejust 31
This new Datejust from Rolex come not only with a redesigned case but also with the equipped with new-generation calibre 2236. The new case features changed lugs and sides and is guaranteed waterproof to 100 metres. Like all Datejusts the 31 has a Superlative Chronometer certification. There is never a need to make the case for including a Datejust among our favorites, it will always be a classic in every avatar and it only gets better with age!
