Eyewear Bottega Veneta
You’ve seen the famous Intrecciato weave on bags, wallets and shoes. Now, under the creative direction of Tomas Maier, the iconic motif is extended to Bottega Veneta’s latest eyewear collection for Autumn/Winter 2016, offering both sunglasses and prescription glasses options in three distinctive themes.
As an evolution of the profile in intrecciato in previous collections, this season’s Light Intrecciato Profile sees both slim unisex round sunglasses and hyper-feminine models crafted from hand-polished acetate and subtly outlined by metal intrecciato details in tonal or contrasting colour nuances. Each pair is finished with two iconic rivets on the temples.
The Intrecciato Eyes range on the other hand sees stronger silhouettes. An eyebrow metal insert with the weave is wedged between the acetate frame and lenses, defining the soft rectangular shape or unisex browline style the brand has come to be known for.
If you’re a big fan of the Intrecciato weave and want to wear it loud and proud, the Intrecciato Rim optical unisex style features the engraved motif throughout the eyewear (yes, from the bridge on the aluminium front to the nose pads and end tips). Maier kept the look light and versatile and added contrasting metal finishes for a good dose of character and exclusivity.
The Italian luxury goods house has also engaged only the best to craft the eyewear range. Masterfully hand-assembled by expert artisans in Italy and Japan – both synonymous with excellent eyewear production and meticulous manufacturing – every pair is a luxurious amalgamation of premium Italian acetate and Japanese titanium (translate: light, durable and ultra-comfy). In a neutral palette of black, brown and Havana, the eyewear collection is punctuated with sprightly accents of blue, green, pink and yellows, making them the perfect accessory for any occasion, outfit and season.
