Perrier-Jouët’s Bland de Blancs Cuvée

New from Perrier-Jouët is the Blanc de Blancs cuvée, an exquisite Champagne crafted entirely from white grapes. The choice of grapes marks a departure from traditional Champagnes, but is also a distinguishing factor that results in a lighter and fresher bubbly. This cuvée is the second Blanc de Blancs creation by Cellar Master Hervé Deschamps, following his Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs which came out 20 years ago.

The Chardonnay grapes that go into Blanc de Blancs are grown in the Côte de Blancs and Montagne de Reims. “Chardonnay is our house grape and this cuvée is about the finesse and beauty of Chardonnay,” said Hamish Millar, senior brand manager for Perrier-Jouët at Pernod Ricard UK.

To commemorate the launch, International chef Akrame Benallal (whose restaurants can be found in a number of cities including Paris, Shanghai and Manila) has developed a selection of original recipes that complement the Champagne. Its floral and citrus notes give Blanc de Blancs a crisp and clean flavor on the palate; perfect for an aperitif.
