A LOOK INSIDE PIERRE CARDIN’S BUBBLE PALACE IN CANNES THAT IS ON SALE FOR $450 MILLION

Designer Pierre Cardin’s dazzling and uncanny Cannes pad has been put on sale for a staggering $450 million. In case you’re wondering how one could demand such a price tag, let us jog your memory you that this mansion was home to wacky after-parties and fashion shows for over two decades. Cardin, now 92 purchased the Palais Bulles – aptly called Bubble Palace – in an auction in the 90’s. With Cardin’s name stamped on the property, we’re not entirely surprised that the mansion attracted an impressive dossier of celebrities including Marion Cotillard, Rhys Ifans, Dakota Fanning and Pierce Brosnan, and even Prince Harry’s ex-beau Cressida Bonas.

When your complex covers a sprawling 1,200 square metres, it’s only fitting that it encompasses ten inimitable space-aged rooms, three swimming pools, lush-green gardens and a 500-seater amphitheatre.

With unprecedented views of the beautiful Mediterranean, this seemed like every A-list celebrities’ grotto. We hear the 2002 MTV party celebrated here, was the talk of the town.

Prince Harry’s ex-beau Cressida Bonas is most definitely a regular in this complex, having shot multiple photo shoots against the beautiful landscape.

Cardin’s extravagant mansion was home to parties of the decade, particularly the Celebration of the Spirit of Brazil, attended by Rhys Ifans (left), and of course the much-talked-about after-party for the 59th International Cannes Film Festival, Cardin seen here in the company of model Jasmine Lennard (right)

A collection of ten colossal, terracotta-painted bubbles form the 1,200 square metre complex. What truly fascinated us were the stunning exteriors and interiors.

Hungarian architect Antti Lovag was commissioned for this fascinating project. Drawing inspiration from pre-historic caves, Lovag conceptualized this project.

The bizarre pad was recently hired by high-end fashion house Dior, for a show to coincide with the Cannes Film Festival. At $12,500 a day, it sure comes with a steep price. Cressida Bonas was one of the high-profile models and actresses Dakota Fanning and Zoe Kravitz were in the star-studded crowd.

Yes, most definitely this is our much-loved spot; set against a backdrop of Calais hills offering spectacular views of the turquoise ocean.

Dipped in blue, this stunning room entails a circular bed and a contrasted wall painting, adding that splash of colour to the room.

The contrast between interiors and exteriors was what truly appealed to us; the odd brass paintings, eccentric furniture pieces and the circular doorways.

Fittingly so, the unconventional round shapes of the complex are inspired by the body of a woman.

The Palais Bulles is built through six undulating levels on a rocky outcrop of the Massif de L’Esterel, a volcanic mountain range known for its red hues.
