Samsung has launched an updated, 2018 version its design-focused Frame TV that debuted last year. The next-generation model comes with additional customization features and a much bigger array of art to choose from. The Frame TV 2018’s 4K display now features HDR10+, which is an improvement over the predecessor’s HDR Pro. It also comes with all the upgraded features the South Korean brand has already added to its 2018 QLED lineup. The TV is Bixby voice command enabled to help users browse shows and control compatible home devices like smart lights and soundbars using Samsung’s voice assistant.

The highlight of the Frame TV is its aesthetic appeal and its capability to transform into an art display when the TV is not in use. It doubles as a decorative piece that cycles through photographs, paintings, drawings, and other art work gathered from prominent museums, archives, and artists around the world. For 2018, Samsung has updated and improved artwork UI, making it easier to browse art collections by color scheme or art medium. Samsung says owners will be able to choose through 800 available works of art and will be able to create their own art playlists, just as they would with music. Individual works of art can be purchased, or owners can get a subscription to the Samsung Art Store for $4.99 a month. The TV’s frame can also be customized to four different bezel colors — black, white, walnut and beige wood. The frame can be attached to the unit via magnets. The new Frame TV is available in two sizes: 55-inch model priced at $1,999 and 65-inch model available for $2,799.
