Cartier’s Rotonde De Cartier Mysterious Hour Skeleton Watch
Cartier may be best known for their luxury goods and jewelry, but the brand actually has a long history of watchmaking as well. In preparation for the 2017 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), the brand has revealed their new line-up of watches, one of which is the eye catching Cartier Rotonde De Cartier Mysterious Hour Skeleton Watch. This watch shows off the mystery clock design that Cartier always does so well.
The timepiece uses the brand’s Rotonde de Cartier design framework, which shows off an ingenious and meticulously worked skeletonization which is contained in a 42mm palladium case. The watch is powered by Cartier’s caliber 9983 MC hand-wound movement. You can catch glimpses of the movement through the metal roman numerals that indicate the indices for this watch.
The sub-dial is made up of two small sapphire discs with fitted white hands and the hands seem to be unconnected to the movement. Although it’s evident that the sapphire discs must be connected to the movement, the specifics remain a secret. That’s what makes this watch one of the more intriguing timepieces of the year.
The watch also boasts a cabochon sapphire crown and is completed by a black leather strap.
